Why does Black Thrive attend these events?

Black Thrive attends and maintains a presence at a wide range of festivals and events such as this. We here at Black Thrive attend these events for three main reasons

  1. Tell our communities about the great work we are doing
  2. Provide an opportunity for members of our community to join us and help shape our work and the future of mental health services in Lambeth
  3. Find out from our community what they need from Lambeth to ensure services that are provided are fit for size and enable us to Thrive

Black Thrive values all of our volunteers

Without our volunteers, Black Thrive would not be able to have the success and impact it has had so far. We always want our volunteers to know they are valued and we want to ensure our volunteers always walk away feeling empowered and closer to the Black Thrive and our work. Benefits for volunteers include

  • A chance to be actively involved in addressing the mental inequalities Black communities face in Lambeth
  • A Black Thrive Festival Volunteer T-Shirt and/or pin
  • Meal vouchers during scheduled shifts
  • Travel allowance (up to maximum of £5.00. To claim expenses a receipt should be presented along with a completed expense claim form.)
