Working Group Manager – Black Thrive

Are you passionate about helping African and Caribbean communities in Lambeth thrive?

Black Thrive aims to improve the mental health and wellbeing of Lambeth’s black communities.

Black people in Lambeth do not constitute a single, homogenous group but the evidence shows that people of African and Caribbean descent are suffering disproportionately when it comes to mental health and wellbeing.

Black Thrive’s vision is that Lambeth’s black communities are able to thrive and improve their mental health and wellbeing, supported by relevant, accessible services which provide the same excellent quality of support for all people regardless of race.

We are now seeking a full-time Working Group Manager to ensure that Black Thrive excels at delivering its vision by driving the work forward and supporting the development, work planning and delivery of four core themed Working Groups focusing on:

· Prevention of mental ill health in black communities in Lambeth

· Better access to support services

· Better experiences of care for those who need services

· Children and Young People

The ideal candidate will be a strategic forward thinker with a knowledge of health and social issues and experience of project management, facilitation, as well as excellent communication and stakeholder liaison skills.

Location: The role will be based at the Healthwatch Lambeth office in Brixton. Some local travel will be involved.
